API - Customisation and 3rd party integration
OnePlaceMail™ provides a comprehensive application programming interface (API) for creating custom solutions to integrate desktop applications with Microsoft SharePoint.
Integration with third party systems and the creation of custom business logic is available at a number of points during the desktop-application-to-Microsoft SharePoint transfer-and-results process. This creates sophisticated and streamlined business processes to promote SharePoint as the information management and collaboration platform.
The comprehensive OnePlaceMail API is available when filing from Microsoft Outlook or Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) to Microsoft SharePoint. This provides complete examples to integrate at various points with the filing and post-filing process to Microsoft SharePoint. Full documentation is included in the OnePlaceMail download.

Example API capabilities
- Access third party systems from any of the many plug-in and event points.
- Set the destination library, content type and SharePoint library folder location programmatically.
- Rename files (Note: OnePlaceMail has email duplicate checking turned on by default) being uploaded.
- Set custom metadata on one or more of the files being uploaded.
- Set default metadata for the files being uploaded
- Programmatically specify if the upload window will display.
- Receive upload confirmation results and full URLs of items successfully transferred to SharePoint. This is useful in the event you would like to store these URL locations in other systems such as CRM.
